Since I am going to be making to tomorrow, I thought I would share a very simple dish that Rena reminded me of- apple crisp. There are several versions out there I am sure, but this one is Rena’s way of cutting calories and still having a great dish!
For a small brownie pan- you’d need 7-9 med apples.
7-? apples- I mix varieties but my mom loves Golden Delicious the best
1 TBSP Butter
1 TBSP Brown Sugar
1 c oats/ oatmeal
lots of cinnamon- use at your discretion
You wash, slice and fill the pan with the apples. Mix the oatmeal, butter and sugar together and then top the apples. Use generous cinnamon over the oats. Bake at 350 for 30-40 min.
You can add nuts, raisins or even other fruit to spice it up as well as nutmeg. It’s a healthy dessert by itself and you can also serve a la mode!
